I got asked yesterday if Oppo has written rules. Yes, yes it does. I realized it has probably been too long since we posted and many new people have joined since, so here they are.

First, “Hour rule” is not a real rule. Go ahead and post if someone hasn’t for an hour, but the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! wont get you if you don’t.

What are the real rules? First rule of Oppo:

Be Excellent To Each Other.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Everything else falls under that banner.

Go through and give them a read.

In addition there are some specific rules regarding when and how to share.

The gist of these is simply avoid spamming Oppo. We ask you share with care frame shares in a way that lets us have a conversation here, in Oppo.

We as moderators want to make it clear that we don’t want to be content police, thats not our job and if we have to step in it will be because of your views on the rules, not because we don’t value and respect your voice.

We expect you to take ownership on Oppo to keep it one of the more civil and interesting off topic car themed forums around. We’ve arrived at these rules and guidelines very carefully and if you follow the letter and spirit of them and act as the adults we expect you to be we find that silly stuff and serious stuff can live side by side and we can have a civil, cool place to not do work together.

We also expect you to act as a member of the community. Remember that Oppo’s raison d’être is to be an off-topic-ish club—it’s why our join request posts are titled “Club Openings.” Don’t just use this as a place to post or advertise your own work. You need to actively interact with the Oppo community on other members’ posts, else the rest of us will have a really hard time justifying why you’re here and probably won’t want to read, watch or shitpost about your work.

To answer that issue, i point that as god can be iinfinitely strong as he(she?) Needs to be to lift said rock and his(her?) Power can become infinitely powerful to create such an infinitely heavy rock we have building energies of inf. X inf. To ewual just plain pure endless energy and therefore the rockbwouldnt look like anything but energy and god would, well, look like awesome pure energy...so is there even a rock at this point to lift if its just infinite energy?

Look, I understand that you are frustrated with your job and I know that feeling is hard to keep contained to just that part of your life. Trust me I REALLY get it.

From me to you on a personal level...before you respond in way that will only add to your troubles, get up, walk away from the keyboard and give it a good 10 minutes to settle. The original problem isn’t gone but you haven’t made new ones and you’ re in a better place to table an appropriate response.

Hope your work situation gets better, I really do.

Thanks! I tried using “Compose Post” on Jalopnik to post a new article this morning and I couldn’t post to Oppo (it only showed posting to “wkiernan”), but I tried again just now and I apparently can. Apparently that widget only works to post to Oppo when you are looking at Oppo. Not that I have anything to post today, but if I did it would be nice.

As far as my comment being deleted by the author of the thread, well, it’s his thread, I suppose he can delete any reply he doesn’t like .

Can you say something to this guy? I really don’t know what his issue is. I get some people don’t like me, or my posts, that’s fine, but everyone else just doesn’t comment. But this guy makes it a point to comment on my posts and talk shit. I haven’t responded to him in a loooong time, I just dismiss him, but now he’s talking shit outside of my posts.

Hi sir, I think I’ve been grey’d again, (not sure why, hopefully not for something did...) Any chance at getting de-grey’d and maybe posting rights? I think I only really annoyed somebody once.. and that was a while ago.. All t he vehicles I’ve ever daily’d were manual transmissions, does that get half an extra gold star?

You’re good. At least it’s fixed. Usually I don’t try to whine like this but yesterday I wasnt in the best of moods and this guy just went too far. I even made an indirect call out post according to party vi and didn’t think about it until it was pointed out, so I apologise for that much. But thanks to both of you for dealing with it.

All signing in with Microsoft Edge did was destroy the Kinja icon for my account’s page. And I can’t even create a post for Kinja help! Also, its broken on my phone as well. I can still edit posts, though authorship seems to have disappeared otherwise.

Hey I know this thread is a few days old but I’m trying to figure out how to post to Oppo. Some folks pointed me to a Party-VI thread to comment there, and I did, but I’m still not see ing the ability to post to Oppo. I’d love to be able to get in on the action with GTI/Boating /American muscle/Industry posts of my own.

not as a regular occurrence . but if you have something you are looking to unload and you think it fits with oppo then from time to time. Its not a marketplace but you can link to one as needed or post a way to contact you directly.
